There’s a bank in my area that is trying to stir up more business by offering to donate $100 of their money to a “cause of your choice” if you are willing to open an account with them.

There are many different offers that banks use, but this one has caught my attention a few times now. The first was with a friend when this just began. They tried to convince me to open an account (I resisted). The next came on the radio today.

See, most commercials just kinda go in one ear and out the other. The bank commercial started that way and I just about changed stations until the “customer” said that she chose “her church.” She went on to say that the money could by a choir robe with gold trim. Then she mentioned that others joined in and soon they were able to buy many new choir robes with gold trim.

What great insight from outsiders. We need to remember how people see church. The writer for the ad gives us great perspective on how they perceive church to be. I know that not all churches are like this, but this is obviously a thought that lingers in some peoples heads.
